dc.descriptionDuring the period that corresponds to the mixing dentition, great alterations in the dental archs occur. It is observed that it is an intense phase in the children’s growth and some alterations of normality can happen. Therefore, it is the odontopediatrician’s duty to diagnose and treat, whenever possible, the morphological and functional alterations which are characteristic of the dentition development. The purpose of this research was to evaluate, through clinical exam of a random sample of 495 children from 7 to 9 years of age, resident in Londrina – Pr., the most frequent characteristics observed in the mixing dentition period. The results showed: presence of open bite, anterior cross bite, posterior cross bite, antero-inferior and antero-superior crowding, and different face standards. The results were elaborated through graphs, illustrating the prevalence percentage of the characteristics that were found in this research. It can be concluded that innumerable alterations occur in this phase which is not static, but dynamic.en-US
dc.descriptionNa época correspondente à fase de dentadura mista, ocorrem grandes alterações nos arcos dentais. Observa-se que é uma fase de intenso crescimento da criança, na qual alguns desvios da normalidade podem instalar-se. Sendo papel do Odontopediatra diagnosticar e tratar, sempre que possível, as alterações morfológicas e funcionais desta fase de desenvolvimento da dentição, o presente trabalho teve por finalidade, por meio de exame clínico de uma amostra aleatória de 495 crianças na faixa etária de 7 a 9 anos de idade, residentes na cidade de Londrina – PR, avaliar as características mais freqüentes observadas na fase de dentadura mista cujas variações são extremas devido ao período crítico e repleto de mudanças que ocorrem nesta fase. Os resultados evidenciaram: presença de mordida aberta, mordida cruzada anterior, mordida cruzada posterior, apinhamento antero inferior e antero superior, e diferentes padrões faciais. Por intermédio de gráficos, os resultados foram elaborados ilustrando-se assim a percentagem de prevalência destas características encontradas.Com isto pode-se concluir que inúmeras alterações acontecem nesta fase que não é estática, mas sim dinâmica.  pt-BR
